It was clear from our very first call with Steve and Cher that we would be using them for our breeder. They shared important insight and demonstrated high-level knowledge about breeding and early puppy care. They were prompt, informative, and very open in their communications. While their experience spoke for itself, we immediately saw how much effort, time, and care they put into helping the puppies develop from day 1. WOW!! Where to start?! Oak Savannah Aussies has been an absolute joy to work with in bringing home our special boy! The experience from the beginning was so reassuring and communicative. We had a video chat with Steve, filled with so much information and introductions to every one of their gorgeous dogs. You could tell just how much passion and knowledge he and his wife, Cher, have in the Aussie breeding process. Steve’s vet tech experience and Cher’s training methods reassured us our future pup would be in the very best of hands. As soon as we selected our puppy, we were sent constant videos, photos and updates, which made the whole 8 week waiting process so exciting!! I cannot share enough good things about Oak Savannah Aussies! Cher and Steve have been an absolute joy to start this new journey with! Farrah comes home this coming weekend, yet I feel like I already know her and her siblings so well due to watching the birthing via live stream, getting picture and video updates almost daily since the birth, and updates on her weight. Cher and Steve also do something many breeders do not. They start the name training process, they start the leash training for you, and also start exposing the puppy to things that will put puppy a huge step ahead when bringing home and starting your own training. I truly believe having a breeder that is so passionate about every single one of their dogs, dogs they produce, and that takes their time to go the extra mile in training and exposures like this is key to a very well rounded and solid minded dog. I would not have wanted to take this journey with any other breeder! If you are even considering a mini aussie, look no further!

I absolutely loved the entire journey from meeting these amazing people to bringing home the most amazing puppy. Steve and Cher obviously care about every aspect of their program. They want the best for their puppies and it shows in everything they do, from their focus on using the genetic and health profiles of their dogs to breed only the best, healthiest pups, to insisting that the puppies keep their tails, to arranging a very informative interview and application process, to frequent communication about their mating dogs, to pregnancy updates, to livestreams of the births, to numerous videos and photos of the growing pups, to the extensive and invaluable socialization of the puppies before they go to their new homes, to answering any questions I’ve had along the way. I don’t think I can properly explain how great the experience was with Steve and Cher at Oak Savannah Aussies! From the beginning, they were very responsive and willing to answer any questions we had. They even set up a video call to get to know us so they knew their puppy was going to a good home. We knew right after the call that OSA was the breeder we wanted to get our puppy from. We felt like we were part of the entire process from the time Cleo was born to the time we took her home. Steve and Cher provided weekly (if not daily) pictures and updates, so we got to watch Cleo grow week by week. The experience was overall very seamless and stress free, which we really appreciated as first time puppy owners. Even after we took Cleo home, Steve and Cher asked us to keep in touch and send updates as Cleo grows. I would highly recommend Steve and Cher at OSA because they truly care about their puppies.

I highly recommend Oak Savannah Aussies. Steve and Cher are both great and share so much information on their dogs and, when the puppies are born, communicate frequently with pictures and updates. Once I was at their home to pickup Seeger, I got even more information about what my pup had learned so far and if he had anything that was at the moment challenging him (ie Steve had noticed that Seeger was afraid of certain movements of the branches in a tree and communicated that to me so that I would be aware of it and be able to work with Seeger at home to build up confidence with unexpected movement). It helps so much with the transition. Cher is very warm and I could tell had put a lot of love and attention in raising the puppies. In addition, when I picked up Seeger, they were ready with a toy and a blanket that he could take home with him so that he could adjust better by having the scent of his littermates and mom while traveling all the way to Maryland. Seeger is such a delight! He’s sociable, confident, loves meeting new people and is super smart.
They have done a wonderful job in their breeding program. I cannot thank them enough for Seeger joining our family!!

Being local, they allowed us to spend time with our Miss Ivy before she came home. They were so helpful through the whole process before getting Ivy, as well as being there after we were able to take her home.

A HUGE THANK YOU to Oak Savannah Aussies (OSA)! Our family looked at a number of breeders and by far OSA was the best! Their love for all their dogs and puppies is clearly evident. We got to FaceTime Steve and Cher right at the beginning and it was a great experience getting to know them. They are given to wonderful detail, putting the health & safety of their dogs at the forefront. They are also over the top patient with any question you might have. Our family so enjoyed getting all the puppy videos while we waited for our little red tri female, named Aurora.
We’re a big family, with 6 kids and wanted a puppy that was friendly and kind. We feel like we got the best pick of the litter with Aurora. She is smart, patient, willing to learn, always wants to play and is super kind to our kids. We first met Cher + Steve via a video call back in January of 2021 where we not only got to ask every question we could think of, but they did also. We were amazed at how much they wanted to know about US to make sure we were the right ones to keep one of their pups forever. From day one, you could tell how genuinely invested they are in what they do and how deeply they love and care for each one of their dogs. We put a deposit down for the next liter but when none of them were the color we were looking for, Steve and Cher were quick to reach out and invite us to look forward to the next liter. Even though Minnesota feels lifetimes away from Rochester, NY, we felt like we were there for every step of the way. The updates we constantly got during the pregnancies, the ultrasound photos, and even being able to watch the entire birth process was seriously amazing. You feel like you are right there, part of every single big moment and I truly think that bond with your puppy is created even before the puppy is born thanks to how Steve and Cher invite you into the entire process. We can’t thank them enough for being so patient with us throughout trying to figure out a perfect surprise for our kids. They took so much time to text, message, call, video call over all of the details of bringing Billie home to surprise our 3 kids and it went seamlessly. We can confidently say that there probably aren’t many breeders who put all of their time, energy, and heart into bringing puppies into the world as them. They take so much time to make sure the puppies are exposed to other dogs, people, sounds that may be intimidating, and even start some basic training!!! Even after Billie has been with us, they have been eager to get updates on how her transition home has been and have encouraged us to contact them at any time with as many crazy and constant questions we might have. Getting to know them through these 9 months, it is clear to see that when they give their puppies away it is like giving away part of themselves and their family and we have felt that through how they’ve guided us into the role of being Billie’s new family. Without a doubt Oak Savannah is hands down the best mini Aussie breeder around (and we looked relentlessly all over the country for months!!). Steve + Cher, we can’t thank you enough for being with us for 9 months on our journey to the perfect puppy. Billie is even more than anything we could have hoped and dreamt about and the wait was far beyond worth it. Hope you’re ready to get an insane amount of photos of Billie living her best life as a Mesiti and a devoted Buffalo Bills fan.

Steve and Cher are AMAZING. There is simply no other word for it. From day 1 of reaching out to them it has been an experience I could have only dreamed of. Right away we hopped on a video conference and the floodgates opened (in a good way!). TONS of information about their process, showing me the house, the dogs, how sweet and nice they both were! It really made me feel a part of the family even before starting the process! And talk about communication! Whether it was ultrasound pictures prior to birth, live-streaming the actual birth or the hundreds of daily and weekly photos/videos, I truly felt like I knew my puppy before he arrived. Now, with him home less than 24 hours, it is SO EVIDENT how much love and care they poured into all their puppies. His temperament , his attitude, his willingness to learn...everything you could ever dream of in a puppy.

Honestly, I could have not asked for a better experience! Steve and Cher are AMAZING in every sense. Unlike other people I decided to go pick up Wyatt (My Mini Aussie) at their house in Minnesota, I wanted to have the whole experience and I am so honored that they opened their arms to receive me in their home!
Cher and Steve are a great team, they take the time to explain everything and go in detail if you have any questions or concerns, they are willing to answer and help you find the answers you are looking for.
Before all of this I had an interview with them for 2 hours and a half! I loved talking to them, they do make sure they know where their puppies are going to and get to know the owner.
Steve and Cher kept me updated every step of the way even before I was fully decided for Wyatt, they sent me pictures and they answered my questions completely, they were great at keeping me informed and sent me pictures and I was able to see his growth and development throughout the days (I was decided for him at week 5 and I picked him up at week 8.5).
My stay with them was an amazing experience, not only did they pick me up in the airport and dropped me back the next day, but they created an amazing well thought surprise for me to receive my puppy, we ordered pizza and I met the parents (both) of my puppy! I stayed for a day because I was starting school again, but I would have loved to stay longer! They sent me home with a crate for the plane as well as toys for Wyatt and a bag of food! (They sent me well prepared.)
I was able to see how they take care of their dogs and how lovely they are with them, (they currently have 12 dogs) and how dedicated and passionate they are at what they do! They make sure all their dogs have what they need and they take the time to get to know their dogs and make sure they are healthy.
I am incredibly happy with my experience with Oak Savannah Aussies because they go above and beyond with their puppies and customers, I highly think that this experience has been the complete package and I could not be happier. Wyatt is an amazing dog and even though he is 8 weeks he already knows how to pee and potty on a pad as well as “Sit”. Cher and Steve teach the dog basic things such as climbing the stairs and other basic obedience.
I can feel the love they have for what they do and if I decide to get a companion for Wyatt in the future, I will absolutely go back to Oak Savannah Aussies. I am so happy to be part of the Oak Savannah Family and I am so happy I found them!
Cher and Steve are people that I know that even though they puppy is already mine, they would still keep in touch with me and help me if I need anything!

Cher and I connected over the phone and the conversation was geared toward learning about me and my lifestyle. Once Cher felt confident that her precious pup would be in good hands she began to talk about the various pups and personalities within her current litter. Together, we matched an ideal coloring with a personality to fit me and my girlfriend.
This wasn’t a “I have three left... get them while you can situation” ...a situation I had felt from other breeders. This almost felt like I was interviewing for a truly unique and amazing companion specifically tailored to me. I knew that Oak Savannah Aussies were extremely loved and valued dogs.
This sense grew stronger when every possible question I had as a new dog owner was answered, pictures and live videos were always there for me. We have so much love and respect for Oak Savannah Aussies and our puppy Marley!
Steve is there for any and all questions. Cher is there for loads of pictures. I highly highly recommend Oak Savannah Aussies. They are extremely quick to respond and always provide long, thoughtful responses. I never felt like a burden talking to them or asking them countless questions about the breed or their program. I knew that they always put in 100% when responding to my questions. This alone goes a long way in the breeding world. I talked to many other breeders who gave me short responses and seemed as though they were almost annoyed by my questions. But not Oak Savannah. I was always in the loop throughout Indi’s entire pregnancy and I even got to watch her pregnancy via a live stream, which is something that most breeders do not do.
Although I was not able to get a puppy from Oak Savannah’s due to the circumstances, I felt like I was a part of the puppies lives before they were even born. If anyone is looking for a Miniature Australian Shepherd, I highly highly recommend this breeder. Steve and Cher go above and beyond and I couldn’t believe how well they do with the dog within the 8 weeks, from teaching him his name to introducing him to loud noises (thunder, fireworks, loud clapping… etc.), teaching him stairs, control when wanting something (he will sit and look up at you instead of jumping)… they keep their tails on the dogs as well, which is definitely my favorite because you see so much personality in a dog with their tail. Oak Savannah constantly kept in touch with pictures, videos, weight check-ins and updates on how he was doing.. and also let us visit multiple times… I couldn’t have asked for a better breeder for my first puppy experience. Our experience with Oak Savannah Aussies honestly couldn’t have been any better. Typically, picking a puppy can be a stressful and hard decision to make but, after the first time meeting Steve and Cher, I knew we had found the exact breeder we had long been looking for.
