Here is a bit more information regarding how things work, in terms of choosing a pup, at Oak Savannah Aussies.  Generally speaking, we work off of an ongoing waitlist and only breed according to existing demand for our program.  We are the polar opposite of a breeder that has pups just because it/they can!  The majority of our pups have homes well before they leave us (day 56, at the earliest) and that is a GREAT feeling!  

Before adding a person or family to our waitlist, we have a video chat, during which we can introduce our home, our dogs, our pups (when we have pups in-house) and go through the various aspects of our program (genetics, our tails-ON philosophy, registration, vaccinations, deworming protocol, microchipping, training & exposure).  Video chats also provide us with a clearer window into what a pup's life will look like, with you (?), and they provide everyone involved with an opportunity to see if things seem like a good fit.

After a video chat, we offer to email a "pre-deposit contract", which is a single-page contract on which people/families can write their puppy preference (coat coloration/eye color/gender/temperament, even dam or sire preference) and this contract, combined with a deposit that is transferable to any pup/litter OSA will ever have, is what is required to be added to our list.  Then, we all wait as your (?) position on our list improves with each pup that is placed in a home! 

Occasionally, we will have a pup available "now" (usually because our waitlist tends to consist of more requests for red and/or blue merles than for black or red tri's/bi's) but we keep our website and OSA Facebook page frequently updated.
